Yep. Disgusting, isn't it? There is absolutely nothing wrong with praying over victims and survivors. However, when there is no action to accompany those 'thoughts and prayers', nothing to change what is happening, then it all seems rather hollow. Every time one of these shootings happen, my first response is, "If I am ever killed in a mass shooting, politicize that shit IMMEDIATELY and pass laws and regulations that can prevent future tragedies."
It is one of the few actual ways that the US is exceptional. Such things happen in other countries granted - but not with anything like the same frequency or severity as in America. What is it about your culture that means you suffer through this with frankly ridiculous regularity and why do you feel so helpless to do anything about it?
