Since I discovered lemon/orange/grape water I've most definitely become part of the problem. I can go through 36 of those in a week without blinking. Very thin plastic.
I'm from one of those small towns without recycling functions, though...we used to have a family firm that handled that, but they've closed down along with their feed/equipment store. (Owners getting old, kids not interested in running a store.....old story, but with a shop instead of a farm...)
My local council has recycling pick-ups every week now (it used to be bi-weekly) to meet government targets. My company is pushing the Green button too with recycling bins throughout the office and in every kitchen area. They're pretty hard to avoid and people get rather rude if you put the wrong stuff in the wrong bin!

I recycle around 90+% of my plastic bottles. I do seem to use a LOT of them though!
