Eleanor and I are reading the Magic Tree House book about the Vikings coming to Ireland right now, and the two kids were in search of a book that they need to save, which one of the monks was working on. I imagine it would be something beautiful like this. "Dark Ages" my foot. The Irish saved civilization (and the book of the same title is quite good)!
@ Sarah: the 'Dark' Ages is such a misnomer. They called them Dark because (at the time) we knew little about them after the well documented Roman Age. Now of course we know lots more - and know that Dark really didn't apply!

I do LOVE stuff like this. The detail is amazing (and often lasts HUNDREDS of years or longer).
