I'm so much more productive at work than at home! At work I'm constantly having ideas for things to read, to write about, to do...and then I get home, and I just stare at the screen waiting for inspiration. :P I think when we're already engaged in DOING something, it's easier for the brain to generate new ideas, maybe. My brain is much more active when I walk or move, I find.
@ Mudpuddle: Chickens just know... but they're not telling.
@ Stephen: We get the opportunity of Working From Home once a week. So far I've done this twice over the last 18 months. I find though there are less distractions @ home I feel more involved in the office.
From what I've been reading lately we are built to do our best thinking when we move - indeed thinking facilitates movement and vice versa. Maybe that's why people go for a drive when they're working on a problem?
