I don't so much mind Amazon, oddly -- at least, since I don't use any of its smart devices. It burps up really good related reads courtesy of my shopping history.
@ Stephen: I don't think Amazon know *that* much about me. I'd love to see the tangles I get their algorithms in though! But their recommendations tend to be pretty good (or *completely off base!) so they must be doing something right.
@ Mudpuddle: It seems that the young no longer see privacy as a 'thing'. It's amazing. They don't seem to understand it even at a conceptual level.
I would agree on the privacy issue. Technology has made it so that privacy is not a thing anymore, and when the generations after mine post every little aspect of their lives online, they don't seem to be too bothered by websites collecting info.
Youth doesn't seem to care about Privacy but I do - one reason why (apart from Blogger) I don't 'do' Social Media. The thing about the lack of Privacy though is that a) it'll come back and bite you in the ass and b) it only seems to apply to poor people... Funny that.....
