I will be 40 in January and somehow still manage to think I am in my 20s and staying up all night to read is a good idea. It's not, no matter how fun it sounds.
A mere youth then! [grin] I remember when I was 40.... Just..... But it was about then - probably slightly before - that I realised I couldn't drink the way I used to in my 20's.... Plus I did start to ache more....
Oh for sure! I have not gone out like I used to do in my 20s, since Eleanor was born. I used to drink like a fish and whiskey was my drink of choice. I am pretty sure I would die if I tried to drink now like I did then. Looking back on college and grad school, it's a wonder I survived!
Vodka was always my 'go to' drink from High School. I did transition to Gin for a while but then went back to vodka. It wasn't unusual for me to be drinking a bottle a day @ University - at least at times! No wonder my mother thought I was an alcoholic. I knew people who DID become alcoholics whilst students. Being (relatively) poor I just couldn't afford that kind of lifestyle! [lol]
