My cat (who looked very much like this group) was OK mostly. She did bring a few mice home in her early days but I persuaded her to stop doing that... Mostly she was either asleep or falling off things...... Not really as agile as advertised!
I was at my son’s house today visiting with the grand baby and they have a black cat named Mochi. Mochi used to be a typical aloof cat. He would socialize on his own terms and not be pressed to do more, that is, until the baby was born. Now he’s like a slightly jealous sibling. He greets everyone who comes in the door. They are not allowed to fawn over the baby until they fawn over him first. If you sit on the floor to play with the baby, the cat will intervene and insist you pet him first. It’s so funny how his personality has changed with the arrival of the baby. I always give Mochi all the attention he wants first, because I don’t want him to feel pushed aside in favor of the baby. Oh, and so far, Mochi does not seem to be evil.
@ Sarah: You really don't like them, do you? But they're cute & fluffy and vicious and hold grudges & attack you for no reason... [lo]
@ V V: My cat was *most* put out when my girlfriend stayed over. She'd sit on me nearly all of the time so I couldn't easily move and, whenever possible, sleep on the duvet between us so we couldn't cuddle. Just plain jealousy I told her and that it was beneath her... [grin]

Correct. They're evil because they're cats, not because they're black. ;)
