The 'contagion' theory of sexuality never made sense. Sometimes people question, or even try to reject, their orientation. But you know. How can you not know.....
EXACTLY! I have so many friends who have known they were 'different' from young ages. And then people have the audacity to question someone about how they can possibly know at such a young age. I generally ask those people when they decided to be straight, and how they knew at such a young age that they were hetero. They do not typically have logical answers.
Indeed. I don't remember 'deciding' at any point - presumably from a recognised check list - what my orientation was. It wasn't a question I ever had to ask myself, never mind ponder for any time. I don't think I was particularly unusual or notable in that regard. Since I became aware of such things I knew what/who attracted me and who/what didn't.
