Probably because they believe that books are more dangerous than guns, and ideas are more dangerous than bullets - both of which are *true* of course! Which is why certain sections of humanity (across the globe) want to restrict or suppress access to both books & the ideas they contain.

I totally agree, Kitten, though I wouldn't call that a "reasonable" answer. Because it's b/s. It's a dictatorship. It's 1984. It's ridiculous.
