I love this. Eleanor and her best friend Maliyah twin every chance they get. Dance clothes, street clothes, hair, make-up, down to their perfume. Not once does the difference in skin color ever make them think they can't be twins, even at age 10. They obviously know the difference is there, but it has never been a reason for them to say they can't be twins anymore; they've been best friends since they were three.
It seems to be a generational thing. My Mum is quite racist & homophobic but won't bring it up (too often) around me or my brother because she knows she'll get argued with. My sisters kids are completely cool with race or orientation and probably don't give it a 2nd thought.
Funnily, being of the age that I clearly am, a few people have been surprised at how liberal and tolerant I am.... [lol]
