LOL! A couple years ago our fdavorite museum here in town hosted the Scotty the t. Rex exhibit and it was fantastic. There were a couple lectures given by Lindsay Zanno, an American paleontologist. Eleanor had LOTS of questions and could not get over the fact that chickens are descendents of the t. Rex. I read a book at that time about how scientists could potentially engineer a t. Rex from a chicken, that would have the arms and teeth, but remain the size of a chicken. Didn't we have SEVERAL movies depicting why this is a terrible idea though?
T-Rex is OK and all but my favourite dino's are Stegosaurus & Triceratops - and not just because I'm a Veggie! Must admit the Velociraptor comes pretty high these days - especially after their portrayal in the Jurassic Park movies.
I do love a bit of Palaeontology though...!
I think actually bringing *real* dinosaurs back is probably not possible. The attempts going on ATM are all about 'reverse engineering' them from existing DNA lines (as there's almost zero DNA from 65+ million years ago!!) so a re-engineered chicken made to look like a tiny dinosaur holds VERY little interest for me. Shame really, but that's reality in a nutshell. We can't always (or mostly) have what we want.
