Unfortunately, they're really digging their heels in and clinging to their delusions. I can't tell if it is because they know they've been hoodwinked but are too embarassed to admit it, or because they really believe it. Either way it's bad, but I am highly concerned it is mostly the latter.

Right? I can't even imagine what it feels like to be so worried about things that are literally never going to happen.
I used to think that people would eventually become immune to the blatant manipulation... But apparently not.
