RIP: Annie Nightingale (1 April 1940 – 11 January 2024). She was the first female DJ on BBC Radio 1 in 1970 and played great late-night music including some of my requests to her show. She was a significant part of my youth and my musical education and will be missed....

Aww, I’m sorry she passed. I also had a late night DJ who played some of my requests. It helped me feel less alone in the world. I had a touch of insomnia as a teen and would lie awake at night thinking very deep thoughts about the meaning of life, the universe, and everything. Music soothed some of the angst.
I can't imagine a world without music... How horrible THAT would be! Late night music ROCKS!
I think we're of an age where our icons growing up will be slipping away one by one. All rather sad really........
Yeah, I’ve been noticing a lot of slightly older idols, icons, and entertainers passing. We’re approaching that age where it will only become more frequent. 😟
