I still don't understand why the Republicans are *SO* focused on controlling women's sexuality/reproduction. I've never understood that whenever I come across it in History too. OK, I understand the whole thing with knowing paternity.... But still.... [looks confused]
Modern America I'm afraid....... I see that IVF is now in the firing line. I'm assuming that contraception will be next, followed by restrictions on who people can marry....
IVF isn't on the firing line, but it's inadvertently threatened by a well-meaning but so-far-clumsy attempt to correct the all-too-casual handling of fertilized embryos and the continuing commodification of the human person. Alabama has hardly been taken over by trad-Catholics. :p
The court ruling did make me wonder if the owners of the frozen embryos had any access to child support. I'm guessing that 12-20 in cryo could become a nice little earner - especially as you don't have to feed or clothe them.

It's because they are terrified of becoming a minority, and thus being treated the way THEY have treated minorities.
