Or.... You could just live in a country with decent maternity/paternity leave entitlements and one where having children is free and bringing them up is subsidised by the State.....
So true. It is 'funny' though, that some countries who complain about falling populations/birth rates do *nothing* to encourage & support those who want to have children - and then are surprised when people choose to have fewer or none at all. It's almost as if people are making rational decisions based on their circumstances....
@ V V: You could always retire to Sweden..... [grin] Impressed that you found a copy of 'Plugged Nickel'. I hope it was worth the effort! I *always* worry when people take up one of my book recommendations as I'm always concerned that they won't like it...
I would love to retire to Sweden. I looked into getting dual citizenship since my grandfather was born there but they only give it up to one generation. Also it’s really expensive to live there, and I couldn’t bear to be that far away from my grand baby. 😟

I should have backpacked across Europe at 19 when my friend asked, and never returned to the US. *sigh* Missed opportunity.
Oh, and I found a copy of Campbell’s -Plugged Nickel. It arrived in today’s mail. I hope to read it soon.
