I've seen quite a few episodes of Dad's Army in the past, it was pretty funny!

I'm always a bit surprised that a *very* British show is appreciated elsewhere. I often feel that even when I watch American TV that there's cultural things that are just going straight over my head - of course that doesn't stop me enjoying them... so.... [grin]

But I grew up watching things like Dad's Army. It, and the other shows, were a *huge* part of my childhood/formative year.

Oh yes! It's something I was thinking about recently. For whatever reason, American public television plays a LOT of British shows, and my family didn't have cable TV so we saw many of them. :) Although Dad's Army in particular was something my grandpa and mom had watched, so that's how I heard about that one.

I imagine things from the BBC and other British TV channels were cheap & didn't need any translation - though I hear that some of the more 'accented' shows needed subtitles! [lol]
