One of my favorite patron anecedotes is a woman who asked me if the truth serum being sold on eBay was legitimate. I told her probably not, and she asked for my truth-serum suggestion. I just said 'In vino veritas' (being the pompous ass I am), explained the meaning, and she got a good laugh out of it. "Get them drunk?!"
"In Vino Veritas" is one of my fave sayings. I've done enough of it myself (in my youth) when I said stupid/true things to people because of my blood-alcohol level.... FUN days... [lol]
..and, of course, 'truth' serums don't force you to tell the truth (in the same way lie detectors don't detect lies). They lower inhibitions and increase suggestibility - not unlike alcohol....
