I have been bitten by the learning bug BIG style. I LOVE it. I feel sad when I meet people who either have little or no curiosity (even very smart ones) about stuff. I'm still shocked by a comment one of my work team said to me: Why do you want to read about things you know nothing about? Erm... Isn't that the POINT? To learn more, to understand more...?
I don't know where it comes from - somewhere deeply psychological I guess - but not knowing something makes me feel uncomfortable, anxious even. I wonder if, as a very small child, I was called stupid or ignorant or something and it really hurt?? Whatever it is/was, its buried DEEP.
I did, for a while, think I had run out of new topics, then I discovered that I'll NEVER know enough about everything.... then I realised that it's a blessing that there's SO much to learn about. It means that I'll never run out of things to explore - not if I lived 10 lifetimes. Bliss!

Brilliant quote. I love learning and was really sad when I left school, thinking that would be it.

I couldn't have said it any better if I wanted to espress my own sentiments on the subject.
