Oh, I LOVE P&P! I fell in love with Elizabeth Bennett during the BBC production. LOVED the book too. One of my all-time favourites. My first impression of this painting was the amount of silk on display. Those dresses must have both cost a fortune & weighed a LOT. It must have been exhausting to walk around in them.

I once saw a picture of the girls from the 1995 Pride & Prejudice that looked very similar, only, they all had a book in their hands.

That is true, I am glad all that is over. I wear mostly jeans.
And I think we all must love Elizabeth Bennett, though my favourite JA is Persuasion.
