I read the books - 5 now I think or possibly 6 - some years ago and enjoyed them a great deal. This was after the BBC series so the characters I 'saw' in my head where those - especially Marvin my favourite paranoid android. He was the only half decent thing in the movie - only only just half decent. I liked the design very much but he just wasn't depressed enough to be *the* Marvin I know and love.......

The book! I wasn't that impressed with the movie. I never saw the BBC series.
