Wow, I've seen most of these movies. M loves epic disaster movies that she believes should be seen on a huge screen with surround sound. That said, I actually enjoyed a number of these movies: Day After Tomorrow, Philadelphia Experiment, Battleship. Oh I know they were bad movies, but I enjoyed the spectacle of them. I was really disappointed with Hitchhikers. It was a great book that didn't translate to film. I've only ever seen one of the Star Wars movies (blasphemy!) because I'm a Trekkie. I am planning to do a marathon viewing of all of them before the next Star Wars movie comes out though because so many of my friends love them. I think it's high time I checked them out.

I quite liked San Andreas in a cheesy sort of way. Great FX and a fairly typical story which wasn't terrible - right up till the end few minutes. M is right though. Epic disaster movies only really work on the big screen with surround sound!

The only good thing about the Hitchhikers movie was the design (but definitely not the mindset) of Marvin the Paranoid Android.

Trek over Wars every time. One reason why I hated the reboot so much.

I'm thinking of doing a similar list of the Best SF movies as a comparison.

[lol] I *so* hated that film. It's everything a Star Trek film shouldn't be. I should have know - from the moment I saw them building the Enterprise on the GROUND.
