Polish? that reminds me to highly recommend anything, especially Ijon Tichy, by Stanislaw Lem... imo, one of the best sci fi writers today(well, in the last few, anyhow; he's among the majority, now...)
Polish edition I think. I was looking for book covers of this particular book and this came up. I liked it (but didn't use it in the review) and kept it for later use.
Walter Jon Williams (born 1953) is an American writer, primarily of science fiction. Previously he wrote nautical adventure fiction under the name Jon Williams, a series of historical novels set during the age of sail, Privateers and Gentlemen (1981–1984).
I read a lot of his Cyberpunk books back in the day and really liked them. Aristoi is something quite different based in the far future where human civilisation is steered by the best (hence Aristoi - Aristocracy: Rule by the Best) people around.
