From Wiki: The Alcázar of Segovia (literally, "Segovia Fortress") is a castle, located in Segovia, Spain, a World Heritage Site. Rising out on a rocky crag above the confluence of two rivers near the Guadarrama mountains, it is one of the most distinctive castle-palaces in Spain by virtue of its shape – like the bow of a ship. The Alcázar was originally built as a fortress but has served as a royal palace, a state prison, a Royal Artillery College and a military academy since then. It is currently used as a museum and a military archives building.
@ Mudpuddle: I do love castles - especially one's as amazing as this one.
@ Fred: Pleasure. I'm using Google Image Search where necessary. It's spookily accurate most of the time.
@ Stephen: My first guess was France. I thought it had a very French design feel to it. Apparently not! As with you this is not an image of Spain that springs to mind.

Eat your heart out, Mr. Disney... fabulous place...
Beautiful! Thanks for providing the information.
Gorgeous! My first guess was Germany, but I never imagine Spain with snow. Every mention of it is of arid plains, mountains...
