If I remember correctly, Leinster's _Black Galaxy_ was the first SF novel I had read. Up to that time, it had been only short stories.
It also introduced me to the possibility of finding SF on the paperback racks, as the library up to that time had been my sole source of SF or any other sort of reading.

ML is peculiar; his writing, that is.... some of it is quite blah but other examples are good... nice cover...

I do love 1950's SF art. So interesting...and just SO wrong.......
