Bush certainly wasn't the worst ever, although Iraq is a near-unforgivable error of judgement. I certainly didn't like his policies -- Patriot Act, Military Commission act, the version of FISA that came in and which Obama signed off on as a senator -- but he didn't jail dissenters like Wilson. Pretty much all of the legislation I disliked from Bush was supported by Obama as senator -- I decided when Senator Obama voted to renew the patriot act that I couldn't vote for him in '08. That may have been the year I wrote in my college professors for various offices.

i'd forgotten that about Bush: i always assumed he was the worst potus ever until whatsis name the orange orangutang showed up...
A lot of people seem to be forgiving W because he's comparatively not *that* bad!
