One of my most favorite places in the world. I love the mystery, and it is easy to get lost in your own imagination as you stand out on the avenue, looking across the expanse of land. What a sight to see.
I was there some years ago with a friend of mine. There was a really cool 'guide' that you carried around with you - like a BIG cell phone - which I liked. The best of both worlds - being alone with the stones AND having expert guidance on what I was seeing.

I wonder if we'll ever find out what Stonehenge was actually for? Of course the fact that it's a mystery is pretty cool in itself [grin]
