@ Sarah: Mostly they imagined something far better than the actual reality! Flying cars come to mind!!! If someone from 1950 were dropped onto almost any High Street today they'd probably have a heart attack within a day or two from the stress levels we all take for granted.

Wow, I don't think I have seen this view before. I love seeing what people from the late 1800s/early 1900s thought 2000 or beyond would look like.
