I kiiinda like the angled nacelle struts of the Ent-A, looking at them both. Everything about the A's form brings to mind...momentum, whereas the original looks like half of it is going forward and half of it is sitting still.
Amazing that the original design team, back in the 1960s created such a legendary and iconic ship. Matt Jefferies was the designer. I think that he had no idea how famous and how long lived that this would be.
@ Stephen: I see what you mean. Still LOVE it though!
@ Mudpuddle: Light is good. I miss it in the Winter.
@ Brian: I actually know very little of how the Enterprise design came about. I really need to read up about it!
@ Pete: Some of the Enterprise designs really left me cold. The later models 'Galaxy' Class? Didn't do a thing for me. Neither did Discovery..... NX-01 is SWEET though!!! [lol]
Yeah, the later C and D Enterprises went for the corners and curves a bit too much. They made a ship that looked pretty great on screen ... but made very little sense from an engineering point of view.
Too much for show, not much for sense. Too many slopes leading to useless areas for interior space. Some of the Elite ships are a bit like that as well though.

The post refit Enterprise almost looks like a different ship. Same theme, done a fair bit different in the detail. Good times in iconic ships.
