THANK WHATEVERHISNAMEIS!! i was beginning to have stomach cramps and i sweated a lot... relief is just a cyberkitten away! curiousity cilled the ... nono, i'm sure he's just being touristy!
@ Stephen: Yes, visiting my Mum & family before the weather gets too bad. I did see quite a bit of local flooding both going up and coming back but we have had a LOT of rain lately. Some train services further North had been badly hit. Fortunately my journey was (almost) issue free - at least weather related!
I missed you. I forgot about your pre-Christmas trips and was wondering where you went. We’re planning to visit Scotland and Ireland next summer. Any recommendations on things to see or do? I’m the designated driver for everyone because they want to consume as much whiskey and wine as they can on this trip, much like last year in Spain and France. I want to get away from touristy spots and see nature, ruins, etc. So at least one day I will drag them kicking and screaming to where I want to go, and invariably they’ll all say that was their favorite spot. 😊
@ V V: Thanks! Yes, my pre-Christmas Christmas does confuse a lot of people. But once snowed in (or actually out) is enough for me, plus travel over the Christmas holiday is just too much for me!
I've only been to Scotland once - with my school - and have never been to Ireland (North or South) - despite my Dad being from there - so I can't really recommend anywhere - sorry!
LOL - I've thought about going to Ireland a few times but I've never had a real drive to travel as such. One of my friends did almost nothing *but* travel but that never really appealed much. I've been to Wales quite a bit (having gone to University there - twice!) but it might be fun going to Dublin maybe - but not by train.... boat maybe which could be fun depending on how rough the Irish Sea was.... and I'll need a new passport..... [muses]
Do it! I think we’ll be traveling at the end of May or early June. Nothing is solidified yet. It would be so cool to finally meet you after all these years.

[LOL] Thanks! No more planned breaks for a while now. You're safe!
Welcome back! Was this your "early Christmas" with the family?

Man, you need to hop on a train and visit these countries near you!
