It's just SO pernicious - because people edit their lives online to (generally) reflect the best bits - the highlights.... and their readers compare this to every day life in the real world at ground level - rather than every day in the Mile High Club online.
This is why I try to avoid facebook during the weekend....I'm usually pretty good about not wanting to keep up with the Joneses, but fb undermines my peace of mind.
