' James: Oddly (despite loving the Film Noir versions) I only got into Chandler via SF - William Gibson to be exact - after that author was described as the SF Chandler. Naturally I LOVED Chandler's writing style! I *think* I've read Double Indemnity. Totally LOVED the movie.

maybe the most famous, but there are still others that are just as good... or better imo
I read it some years ago and remember enjoying it. I'm more of a Chandler fan myself though....
I'm also more of a Chandler fan, but this and Double Indemnity make pretty good reading.
