@ Mudpuddle: It is indeed Italy - Civita di Bagnoregio in Tuscany. A beautiful part of the world. I loved being there for a week or so some years ago now.
@ Brian: Quite lovely isn't it. Imagine getting to live there for a few weeks/months. What an idyllic break it would be from the world!

northern Italy somewhere? looks like some fossil-bearing lake bed sediments, there... with what look like some sandstone on top?
