Years ago I overheard a guy on his cell talking to (I presume) a male friend. He said - with real awe in his voice and a big smile on his face - "She's a Warrior, man!" It made me smile all day and still does every time I remember it.
Eleanor and I are here and ready to battle! Not each other, of course, but the patriarchy, sexism, racism, homophobia, transphobia, misogyny, xenophobia, climate change, the prison industrial complex, and a whole slew of others. We might be a wee bit busy for a while.
Awww, thanks fellas! 50 years is not an exaggeration. But we are ready! This is not the world I imagined raising my mighty girl in, and I'll be damned if I won't do every single thing I can to make it better for her, and show her how to also make it better for herself.
