Gotta kinda wonder who they moved it! It's a German parachute mine that's been disarmed (hence the whole in the middle where the detonator/charge used to be. One of these bad boys (according to family myth) dropped near where my dads family lived in Liverpool during WW2 but didn't go off. If it had it would have destroyed a large area as it had landed near a large facility holding 'town' gas. BIG boom if that'd happened!

I'm always 'blown away' [lol] by the fact that they keep finding unexploded bombs all across Europe. They found one a week or two ago in Germany during building work - inevitably - and it actually went off injuring some workers. That's pretty unusual given the level of knowledge and expertise of German building workers though!

A few years back they discovered an unexploded WW2 bomb under a school playground where it had been since the early 40's. Again only discovered during building work. Likewise, I think they've discovered at least 2 WW2 mines in the Mersey harbour (Liverpool, my home town) and had to blow them up to make them safe - being too old and fragile to move.

Did you see the bomb they exploded in Holland recently? It was a huge one (dropped by us!) designed to block a canal. It made a VERY big bang when it exploded. Great video!!

In Europe you never really know what's under your feet!!!
