I don't believe they did - at least not then (1944-45 I suspect from the aircraft mix and the snow on the ground). Hence the wonderful thick leather flying jackets!
The first airplane with enviro systems was the B-29, if memory serves. It was also the first pressurized airplane.
@ Stephen: Sounds about right - because of the altitude it was designed to fly at I suspect.
