I thought girls fell in love with what they saw in the boy's wallets / bank statements... ;-)
I do think that's quite common in these days of 'transactional' relationships and constant 'trading up'. Quite sad really... But when everything becomes a commodity to be bought and sold what else could we expect?
I got it all wrong. I never cared about their wallets or looks. I cared if they could keep my intellectual interest. Glad I found someone who could.
@ V V: Good looks (AKA personal preference) are hard to miss but smarts and a sense of humour last longer and are, IMO, more important.
