It's so hard to do that sometimes even though I try. But Eleanor is just growing up so fast. She's going to be nine soon. I can't even wrap my head around how long the days can be, but how short the years are.
The sad thing about this photo is how true it is for so many people these days. No matter where we are or what we do, people are all about screen time. I remember going to a concert last summer and the woman sitting next to my friend spent the whole time taking video of the concert on a little camera. Literally, watching it through the screen of the camera. It is terrifying to think about what phones and tablets and the like are doing to people and the impact it's going to have on us down the line.
@ Sarah: As long as you're watching kiddo LIVE rather than through a screen it'll be fine. Oh, and when did she become NINE? I thought she was just born a few days ago... [lol] My sister's kids are like that though. One day you're told they've just started walking or had their first day @ school. The next you're being invited to their weddings. WEIRD!
@ Hannah: It does feel that, for a lot of people apparently, something isn't *real* unless its mediated through a screen. I can understand wanting to see things where you can't physically be there (when its raining for instance) and watching *that* on TV or something, but actually BEING THERE and STILL watching it through your phone.... That makes zero sense to me. But then, despite being 'down with the kids' I am of a MUCH older generational mindset... [grin]

I KNOW!!! NINE!!! I blink and a whole year has gone by. This school year in particular has been extraordinarily fast. She will be in 4th grade!!
