I loved the original so much. The sequels were okay, but there's just something about the magic of the very first movie. I doubt I will see Lightyear, have you?
I was totally blown away by the original Toy Story. As you say, the sequels were OK but most notable for the HUGE advances in CGI technology. I did almost choke to death laughing though when Buzz accused Emperor Zerg of killing his father in Toy Story 2. "No, Buzz" he said.... "I AM your father..."
Yup. Saw 'Lightyear' a week or so ago. I thought it was pretty good actually. LOVED the text at the beginning explaining that Andy's *toy* Buzz was based on the real character in this movie... Funny.
You would not believe how many people hear were really upset that the movie was nothing like any of the Toy Story films. Like, did they not get the memo? It's so weird how stupid people are some times. But, it is 2022 and I'm in the US, so the levels of stupidity really are not that surprising anymore.
I think the trailers made it plain that it wasn't a Toy Story movie. Plus it said it - in pretty large text - that it was a movie about the *real* Buzz Lightyear that the *toy* was based on... Duh. But apparently it's not doing well at the box-office.... So...., no sequels then....? [lol]
