Or tornadoes! We in the South had a long day (and longer night) of lightening/thunder storms and tornado watches and warnings. I'm going to be nursing coffee all day.

A bit windy (20mph) and threatening rain here. Still *very* mild though. 10C here ATM. Been very mild all over Europe with record breaking high winter temperatures all over the place. Gotta wonder what it means for the *summer* though........

How long is tornado season? Or does it vary?

Oh, it's always 'nader season in the gulf states, but spring (late March-May) and fall are the nasty periods. Historically, most tornadoes in AL happen in April, March, and November -- but summer and winter are no real reprieve, as yesterday proves!

Nice.............! I don't think I could live somewhere with tornadoes or hurricanes.

I am glad we don't have hurricanes, but we have tornados too and I could definitely go without!

Reminds me of my youth in the snowy winters of Wisconsin. Here in Chicago we've had a handful of moments like this over the years - but no hurricanes!

Last time I was in anything even approaching a blizzard was in the early 80's on the way to college. Luckily for me I turned around & went home before my inclination to lay down in the snow "for a few minutes" kicked in!!
