It’s called Democracy. Plus, the Bolsheviks (as another example) gained power in Russia in 1917 with a coup after failing in their attempt to gain an absolute majority in their parliament after a questionable election. Just 74 years later the Soviet Union collapsed with barely a shot fired. Weird, isn’t it, how a catchy slogan often doesn’t do so well after 10 minutes of research, a bit of common sense and a passing knowledge of history....
Oh, and NICE Soviet era PPSh-41. A classic sub-machine gun!

Well said, Kitten. It's those slogans that "convince" people what they just want to believe. :(
As a basic rule any catchy 'sound-bite' is probably wrong - most especially if a politician says it. [grin]
That's a good rule, more people should know that.
I think we should all have far more than enough experience with that sort of thing by now - but one of the things we learn from History is that we generally don't learn from History.... [grin]

We are apparently also against socialism here, but if you say 'FDR' to people, they give you blank stares in return.
