Indeed, to Both. It does seem that the world has gone more than a little crazy over the past 10 years or so.... and the *really* bad shit hasn't even started yet. Maybe that will be able to knock heads together & we'll sort our lives out?
But I've been saying for a while now that the next 100 years are make or break for our species. Presently I'm betting on break. Oh, and have you heard of the idea of the Great Filter - the thing which stops intelligent species becoming spacefaring species? I think we're encountering the early stages of it now....

It's an interesting proposed solution to the Fermi Paradox. Makes quite a lot of sense too....
