Ugh. Right? Has nothing to do with the melting ice caps and the weakening of the jet stream, which allows the colder air further south, to give us the insanely cold temps and windchills we've had the last two weeks. UGH.
EXACTLY! And when scientists realized they needed to call it CLimate Change instead of Global Warming, because of how it is making our summers AND winters worse, those same people who already don't believe it is a thing, call it a hoax because of the name change *facepalm*
I always thought the name change was a bit of a cop-out. Inevitably there would be blowback about it. But the bottom line is that general increasing temperatures sometimes causes things in places to be VERY cold. After all, part of the consequence of Global Warming is increasing weather extremes - in both/all directions. So, higher winds, more rain, more droughts, more hurricanes, stronger hurricanes, hurricanes in places that have never had them before - plus more snow, colder temperatures in odd places, etc..... ALL of which has been predicted and is now *very plainly* coming to pass....!
I get why they did it though, to try and make people understand that it makes both winters and summers worse and not just summer. But given the fact that we barely have spring and fall anymore, you'd think they would understand.

Yeah, how can GLOBAL WARMING be real, when its COLD, HERE..... [lol]
People will get it -eventually. Not sure how many will need to die and how many cities we'll need to lose beforehand though.....

...that and all of the weather records that keep getting broken - or all too often smashed.
