As kids, during a storm with thunder and lightening, we used to sit at the front of the house in the open doorway. My aunt, who lived across the road, would panic and be turning her mirrors to the wall (as they 'attracted' lightening strikes) and would turn all of her electrical items off for the duration. We'd be sitting there watching the lightening and counting the time to the thunder to hear how far away the storm was. My aunt used to come across and tell my mum how dangerous it was. We just thought it was exciting.... [lol]
Probably NOT a good idea... Or being outside in a storm holding a metal rod as high as you can.... Although no doubt some idiot has done that to get more 'hits' on a YouTube video....

I love storms and always watch them roll through. But never standing in water lol
