At least he didn't invent HP printers, which charge a monthly subscription and pile on fees if you cancel..

We hired those huge floor standing printers from HP or someone (can't remember exactly who) and one of our areas told them that their printer was no longer required... and it took the company TWO YEARS to pick it up - and kept charging for it all that time!! I think the word is BALLSY!

I got soooo irritated with my HP printer constantly logging out and asking me for a damn password every time I needed to print something and not able to remember all the changing passwords that it kept demanding I make, that I finally hit on a password I wouldn’t forget and expressed how I felt about the “f@ckin’ printer.”

I don't have a printer at home (hardly ever needed one) but they kept making the printers @ work 'smarter', which just meant more annoying and difficult to use!!

There's a recurring meme on facebook IT-related pages about the difference between "techies" and IT guys --- techies have a house full of smart appliances and lightbulbs and so on, and IT guys have dumb houses and a bat in case some device makes a noise they weren't expecting.

We always joked that we should leave a bat in our server rooms to encourage the IT to work properly...... [grin]

Be nice to the people who keep your computers running...mycoworkers make frequent offerings to me of pistachios and coffee!

I used to work in IT Support for some years so, yes, we *always* kept the Server Team sweet... [grin]
