Well, The Plague killed a third of Europe. COVID was a cold for most of us. :p

Indeed it did.... The Black Death changed a *lot* of things in European/World history. But of course they had zero idea what they were dealing with so had a good excuse for some of the crazy shit they did. We didn't have *any* excuse for what we did...

Covid-19 might have been a 'cold for most of us', but it still killed a LOT of people across the globe - to say nothing for the million+ it killed in the US. Luckily for us (humans) it wasn't BAD BAD, but it could've been. Maybe next time? Hopefully we'll have learned some lessons by then - but honestly, I doubt it.

COVID-19 was the third leading cause of death after heart disease and cancer for 2020 and 2021 in the US. I had the rib breaking cough for a solid three months after getting the virus. Now I’m finding out that I have heart damage because of it. 😟

I'm really sorry to hear that Covid hit you so hard Ms V. I'd heard of people getting really bad coughs because of it. I'm **really** hoping that the heart damage isn't serious!! Is there anything 'they' or you can do about it?

I’m scheduled to get a permanent heart loop monitor implanted to get more data than the two-week external one could provide. My electrical signals aren’t firing consistently. I’ve nearly passed out four times while driving, so now I’m banned from driving. My heart stops for a few seconds at a time, numerous times during the day. I’m hoping they will figure this out quickly. I might have to get a pacemaker. 😟

Covid was actually terrible and we still have no idea the impact long-Covid will have. I am so tired of the flippancy toward it.

Sarah, I agree.

I'm so sorry that you're dealing with the lasting effects. My daughter and I were both lucky in our cases that it was mild (we didn't catch it until 2022, after rounds of vaccines and I was also able to get Paxlovid) but so many others were not and I do not take that for granted. And now people act like everything is fine and no big deal.

Sarah, I got it January 6, 2023. I avoided getting it that long. I was fully vaxxed and boosted. I got Paxlovid, but it still did a number on me. 😟

That's awful. I'm so sorry <3
