The moment I saw the cockroaches without thinking I put my feet up on the legs of my chair, lol. Not because I have ever seen/had a cockroach in our home, but because the thought of one makes me want to curl up into myself because they are so icky.
Some of my friends laugh at me because just before I put my shoes on I always turn them upside down & shake them. It's a life-long habit after being born in and growing up in a house that had both cockroaches & mice. It was not at all unusual to hear a mousetrap going off with a loud SNAP.... Luckily, over the years & decades we gradually moved to better - and vermin free - housing...!
