Hey! Just checking, what day did we say we were going to post our Sherlock Holmes review this month? I've really been enjoying His Last Bow :)

If we compare the body counts of Hitler vs Stalin/Mao/Pol Pot I think it's obvious the far left is FAR more interested in killin' the undesirables -- or at least, better at it.

Firstly, it's never been as simple as a numbers game.... Plus, knowing your History is a good thing. But, just because a homicidal dictator in the past professed a particular Left/Right ideology doesn't invalidate moving away from the Centre a few inches in either direction.

It does make me laugh every time - for example - when a MAGA mouthpiece calls something - like affordable childcare - FAR Left. Whilst they get annoyed when a policy of concentration camps or mass deportations at gun point are called FAR Right. They are *not* the same...

I don't think any MAGA mouthpiece is referring to childcare as far left. National Conservatism is more open to welfare than Friedman-TEA party conservatism, with exceptions like Vivek Ramaswamy who believes in something called 'national libertarianism'. I.e., they'd support welfare to help the nation in the form of aid to families, etc -- provided they're pitched the right away and by people who aren't calling everyone to the right of AOC fascist. When someone in the MAGA camp refers to the far left, it's usually referring to the "anti-fa" and BLM goons who seize and burn cities, interrupt college presentations, etc -- or to those who are really into children destroying their bodies in the name of 'gender identity'. Personally, I don't honor that ilk with 'leftist' because they have no concern for the working man, and their policies benefit those like big phama. I've got a book I'm planning on reading called "Woke is not Left" which I hope dips into that a bit.

I really must schedule some Leftie books soon.... Inevitably that'll have to wait until *next* year - along with the 1,000 other books I'm trying to cram in! One book I'm particularly trying to schedule is 'How to be a Liberal'. Sounds (potentially) fun!

Sometimes I just want to scream "FUCK OFF" in your comments (not to you) whenever I see misinformation pop up. It's exhausting. But this post is absolutely right. For a party that claims they are about "personal freedom" they sure do want to ban a lot of stuff. We are not the same, and centrists have to stop being so blind.

TOTALLY agree.
