I can't even. To still believe in him...Ugh. I will never forgive anyone who voted for this. The fact that so much info is now coming out from the files they so desperately wanted to hide, and this fucking lunatic is STILL in office.
I think that about 1/3 of your country will ALWAYS support him - no matter what. So... what does that say about them... and the environment that produced them?
I went to the same schools, had the same classes, and grew up in the same town as many of the brainwashed. Is it a lack of critical thinking that made them so easy to sway, or does it speak to a deeper character flaw that they were attracted to the messages of hate and divisiveness? I’ve puzzled over this for years trying to understand how we got here.
To a somewhat lesser extent its like Brexit. My whole family voted to leave the EU where I voted Remain.... I just couldn't make them realise that they were making a mistake.
I think MAGA is probably both simple and complex. Critical thinking skills are rare - everywhere! I seem to have spent most of my education being taught how to think well. Do they do that any more? I don't think its as straight forward as a character flaw. But I do think that a significant number of people (both in Europe & the US) have been sold a particular narrative and either cannot see it for the crock it is or refuse to face up to the fact that they've been HAD so deeply - a kind of 'sunk cost' psychology where they've sold so much of themselves that they can't give up now.
I'm puzzled too (to say the least). I had thought - wrongly obviously - that these lessons had been learnt but it looks like we going to have to learn them again. I'm not sure (or confident) what will happen but I do think its going to get MESSY.

It’s beyond messy when you put babies in concentration camps.
True... But honestly I don't think we've hit bottom just yet. You might want to brace yourself.
Of course it's the followers. Otherwise he'd have no voice.
Yup... Couldn't pull this shit on his own if everyone else just ignored the ravings of a crazy old guy!
Look at what happened in Germany about a hundred years ago.
Hard to believe that the ‘Beer Hall putsch’ was 103 years ago!
And a lot of people still haven't learned.
