Off topic but have you seen feral historians take on Fatherland? I had no idea that it had been made a movie.

I *think* I've seen the YouTube vid... and I've definitely seen the movie a LONG time ago. I can't remember being too impressed by it but I was young so what did I know...?

I just read a book about Miller called Hate Monger. I wanted to vomie the entire time, because I fucking hate him, but it was a read I think you would appreciate in your quest to understand how the fuck this could happen AGAIN.

Fatherland was the first alt-history novel I ever read in my adult life -- Guns of the South was a teen read. Would be interesting to revisit it and see how it's aged...

He is such a VILE excuse for a human being. I have two books coming up soon which might help me understand your fucked up country a bit more. Hopefully its been enough of a learning experience so it NEVER happens again. VOTES (and actions) matter!

I think he's better when he sticks to what he knows - History. Plus I'm always a bit wary about any 'Germany won' alt-histories. Many things would have had to be very different for that outcome.

I can't remember if Harris mentioned his point of departure, or if he was just beginning with a Nazi win as his premise and using that to explore why certain stories get unearthed..

I think part of it was D-Day failing........ I wonder if there's anything out there were Sealion failed and led to a counter invasion by the Brits in 1941-42 whilst the rest of the German army were getting their asses handed to them in Russia... That was a real possibility especially if their best of the best had been killed crossing the English Channel.
