Yep. ALLLLLL the books.

Indeed. Banning a book just makes me more *interested* in it!

When bans started happening a few years ago, the New York City Public Library system made it possible for anyone to get a card, from anywhere in the country. Not sure if that was only in place for a certain amount of time, but it was wonderful for kids who don't have money to spend on books.

Yes, I heard about that. There's probably a LOT of kids out there who depend on the library system. I know I did before I started earning money MUCH later!

Books are always a great idea and if you taught them right, they will want those books!

I always appreciate books as gifts - just so long as they're from my Wish List. Buying me a book you *think* I'll like is generally a bad idea. Either I already have it or I wouldn't like it... [lol] People have tried buying other books - generally that did not go well!

I usually try to ask what books they would like, even with children.

Same! I still rely on the library because I am poor, as my child loves hobbies that are quite expensive, lol. And I don't reread much, so there is no point. Unless it's Dan Jones. I will ALWAYS buy a Dan Jones book.
